The Beauty of Transparency

The Beauty of Transparency

The beauty of transparency, no filters, no special effects… just as you are

That, that is the beauty of transparency when you stand before God, just as you and lay all that you have at his feet.

For the longest time I felt like I was on the mountain top, things were good, marriage was good, family was good, work was good, business was good, friends were good but then it all started to change. That’s the thing about coming to the mountain top, you can’t stay there forever and how will you ever discover more of the Lord’s Greatness and majesty if you stay in one place, and so the journey through the valley begins.  The journey back down the mountain can sometimes be interesting, exciting even. Discovering new things you never saw before and even sometimes the journey down the mountains can seem effortless and easy at times. Then you reach the bottom and reality sets in and you realize you are walking through a new barren place. It could be a desert place that is dry and dead or a jungle that is alive and thriving but has many creatures lurking at your every move.  Obstacles you once thought so easy to overcome, now becoming draining, you are becoming tired and weary and ready to give up. You have nothing left and are totally emptied of all resources and energy and that that is when your true beauty is revealed. When everything you have is gone, every filter removed and you are standing transparent before the Lord.

Today my husband and I went out to enjoy the beautiful southern California weather and we decided to bring our cameras.  As I was capturing some of the simply beautiful natural elements of my neighborhood I began to think about the depths that God loves us.  God is not about a big show or even a huge crowd, God is about the one and the simple things that make our hearts flutter.  Even in a trying and hard time God is there wooing our spirits and making our hearts swell just by the beauty of His Creation. I feel so much better knowing that although problems may come my way, I have a God who is much bigger than my problems and He is not just a God with Solutions but he is God of Revolution and His love for me is everlasting and daily He continues to pour our blessing, but sometimes it takes being emptied, being transparent, to see the beauty of the blessings that He has given.

I hope that the photos on our walk this evening bless you as they have me! Here’s to enjoying the little things…

and if that wasn’t encouraging enough here is some additional encouragement from my favorite book:

Come away my beloved by Frances J. Roberts

A Garden of Fountains

Behold, My hand is upon thee to bless thee and to accomplish all My good purpose.  For this hour I have prepared thy heart; and in My kindness I will not let thee fail.

Only relinquish all things into My hands; for I can work freely only as ye release Me by complete committal- both of thyself and others.  Even as was written of old: “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:5). I will be thy sustaining strength; and My peace shall garrison they mind. Only TRUST ME- that all I do is done in love.

For adversities must of necessity come. They are part of the pattern of life’s pilgrimage for every individual; and who can escape them? But I say unto thee, that for those who walk in Me, and for those who are encircled by my intercessory prayers of My children, I shall make of the suffering, yea, I shall make of the trials a steppingstone to future blessings (2 Corinthians 4:17-18 Living Letters)

My arms are around thee, and never had I loved thee more!  I will make thee like a GARDEN OF FOUNTAINS whose streams are fed by the mountain spring.

And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy they soul in drought, and make fat they bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not (Isaiah 58:11)
